MINNEAPOLIS and ST. PAUL —The Minnesota Timberwolves, Lynx and tonies®, the original screen-free audio entertainment system for young children are celebrating National Screen-Free Week May 5-11.

As part of their ongoing partnership, the Wolves, Lynx and tonies® are hosting a “Little Dribblers” basketball clinic at the teams’ practice facility this week with local organizations, including A Mother’s Love Initiative which works to strengthen families academically, socially, emotionally and financially. More than 50 kids, (K-2nd Grade) will visit The Courts at Mayo Clinic Square and participate in a skills clinic hosted by the Timberwolves & Lynx Basketball Academy, emphasizing the importance of fun and active play. Each child will receive a Toniebox and Tonies figurines to continue to encourage screen-free play.

tonies® is also donating 50 Tonieboxes and Tonies figurines to safe-play organization and Timberwolves & Lynx Starting Five Grantee, Playworks. Playworks’ mission is to improve the health and well-being of

children by increasing opportunities for physical activity and safe, meaningful play. Nearly 40,000 students were a part of Playworks Minnesota programming last year.

tonies® ignites kids' imagination, encourages independent play and sparks critical thinking in ways that screens simply cannot with its Toniebox speaker and Tonie figurines. Simply place a favorite Tonie on top of the Toniebox and watch as it comes to life, playing hours of stories and songs for little listeners to enjoy all on their own.

The Timberwolves, Lynx and tonies® announced their partnership at the start of the Timberwolves’ 2024-25 season. The multi-year deal is focused on a shared commitment to enriching the lives of young fans with engaging and educational screen-free play.
