Maya Moore Wins Third Western Conference Player Of The Week Award Of This Season

For the third time this season, Maya Moore has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week. This is the 20th Player of the Week award for Moore, tying Diana Taurasi for fourth all-time. Washington’s Elena Delle Donne won the award for the Eastern Conference.

Moore had an incredible week both on the stat sheet and in more intangible ways. She averaged 25.7 points and 3.0 steals per game this week, leading the Western Conference in both categories. She also ranked third in three-point percentage, shooting 56.0 percent.

Her best game of the week came against the Las Vegas Aces, when she rained in 34 points on 12-of-19 shooting, including five threes. Her efforts helped the Lynx close out an incredibly important road victory.

Moore has been playing some of her best defense of the season in the Lynx’s last few games, and her ability to sniff out passes has created many fast-break opportunities for her team. On offense, she’s been getting the job done with her signature midrange pull-up, her three-point shooting and her incredible finishing around the rim.

As the Lynx fight for seeding in the 2018 WNBA Playoffs, Moore’s contributions will be vital. The Lynx star has been outdoing herself in Minnesota’s most important stretch.
