Marney Gellner Television Play-By-Play Announcer


For the seventh consecutive season, Marney Gellner will serve as the television play-by-play announcer during Fox Sports North’s six telecasts in 2016.
Gellner joined FOX Sports North in October 2002 as the pregame show host and courtside reporter for the network’s
Minnesota Timberwolves telecasts. Gellner is also a sideline reporter and pregame/postgame host for an assortment
of different Minnesota teams.
Gellner started her career as a weekend sports anchor/sports reporter for KXMBTV in Bismarck, ND in 1996. She held
the same position at WDAZ-TV in Grand Forks, ND from 1997-99, and at WISC-TV in Madison, WI from 1999-2002
Gellner is a North Dakota native who graduated from Bishop Ryan High School in 1992, and the University of Mary in
1996, as well as earning a Masters Degree in Communications from North Dakota State in 2012. Gellner currently lives
with her husband, Matt, and their 7-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter in Carver, MN.
Lea B. Olsen Television Color Analyst


Olsen begins her eighth year as the Lynx television color analyst for Fox Sports North. Olsen previously served as the Wolves sideline reporter on KSTC broadcasts. Olsen also spent seasons working on ESPN’s WNBA broadcasts. In addition, Olsen is the television analyst for the Minnesota State Girls High School Basketball Tournament and the host for the Minnesota Boys High School Basketball Tournament.
A former basketball player and tri-captain for the Golden Gophers, Olsen received the Patty Berg Award for Academics
as well as the FastBreak Award and Coaches Award for her effort both on and off the court. She graduated with a B.A.
in journalism and mass communications from the University of Minnesota in 1990.
A native Minnesotan, Olsen attended Minneapolis South High School and played one year of basketball earning all-city
and all-conference honors while leading the team in rebounding. Olsen currently resides in southwest Minneapolis
with her husband Elliot and their children, Jada and Will.
John Focke Radio Play-By-Play Announcer & Executive Producer


The 2016 season is John Focke’s second season as the play-by-play announcer for all Minnesota Lynx games. Focke joined the Minnesota Lynx Radio Network as producer and studio host before the start of the 2008 season. Beginning in 2012, Focke also acted as play-by-play announcer for Minnesota Lynx road games. He is also the producer and studio
host for all Timberwolves games.
Prior to joining the Lynx, Focke was the voice of Northern Michigan University Hockey as well as the host of the University’s football and basketball pregame, half-time and post game shows, in addition to providing color commentary for the games. A native of St. Paul, Focke graduated from Ohio University in 2002 before starting his career as a sports director at KATE Radio in Albert Lea, MN where he called play by play for the local high school and covered the Wolves, Twins, Vikings, Wild and Gophers.
Focke also spent a year with the Minnesota Wild as a part time producer with their Radio Network.
Cal Soderquist Lynx Studio Host and Producer


Cal is entering his sixth season with the Minnesota Lynx Radio Network.
Soderquist joined the Timberwolves & Lynx Radio Network before the 2010-2011 season, and currently serves as a studio host for all halftime and postgame coverage. He also serves as the host of the weekly Lynx Unleashed Podcast and a producer for the Lynx Radio Network.
Before joining the Wolves & Lynx, Soderquist served as the broadcast play-by-play voice for the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, calling men’s & women’s basketball, as well as football & volleyball.
A native of Minnesota, Soderquist’s play-by-play experience includes other collegiate sports, as well as various high school tournaments. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2012.
