Timberwolves and Lynx Celebrate Women’s History Month

Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx are celebrating Women’s History Month presented by nVent with the following planned programming throughout March. WHM Content Series: A special content series, presented by nVent will showcase women breaking barriers, specifically in male-dominated industries. Look for the series on Timberwolves and Lynx LinkedIn profiles throughout the month. A Bar of Their Own: As part of the organization’s continued commitment to inclusivity and showcasing women’s sports, the Timberwolves and Lynx will host a special social hour on March 18 at the newly opened A Bar of Their Own, the Twin Cities first sports bar dedicated to exclusively broadcasting women’s sports. HerVoice24: Women Leading the Pack: In partnership with WISC (Women In Sports Council) and Deluxe, the team will host an exploratory panel on March 19 with staff about how women can pave the way in their careers and be strong, confident leaders. HerVoice24: Women Leading the Pack will explore various themes including emotional intelligence, empowerment, unconscious biases, leadership qualities and more. Education Station: During the month, the Timberwolves and Lynx Education Station presented by Xcel Energy will make a visit to an area school to distribute free books to students. The bookmobile will be stocked with books spotlighting girls and women, from female authors, writers and illustrators to female protagonists. Women’s History Night: The month will culminate with Women’s History Night presented by nVent on March 27 when the Wolves host Detroit. All in-game talent and entertainment will support girls and women. Programming for the month is driven by the organization’s ERG which works to support and elevate women in the workplace, while building allyship across the organization.
