Lynx guard Lindsay Whalen played a game-high 36 minutes against Los Angeles, scoring eight points, grabbing four rebounds and dishing seven assists.

Lynx forward Rebekkah Brunson entered the June 16 contest riding a hot streak, but the Sparks cooled her off. Brunson finished with just two points and seven rebounds, her lowest totals in a game at that point in season.

In the first meeting between the Minnesota Lynx and the Los Angeles Sparks this season, guard Seimone Augustus helped to lead the way, pouring in 20 points while adding three rebounds and four assists in Minnesota’s 67-52 victory.

The Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks met for the second time this season on July 29 at Target Center and the Lynx emerged victorious 82-76 behind 27 points, seven rebounds and three steals from forward Maya Moore.

Center Sylvia Fowles, making her first Lynx appearance after a trade with Chicago brought her to Minnesota, had a solid debut, finishing with 11 points, five rebounds and three steals in 26 minutes of play.

Sparks forward Candace Parker made her season deubt on July 29 after sitting out the first half of the season to rest. Parker played well, finishing just shy of a triple-double: 12 points, seven rebounds and nine assists in a Sparks’ loss.

As good as the Minnesota Lynx played defensively that night, they could not find an answer for Sparks center Jantel Lavender. Lavender finished with 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds as well.

Lynx guard Lindsay Whalen was making crazy plays all night against the Sparks, finishing with 24 points and six assists in the Lynx win.

Lynx forward Maya Moore led her team into Los Angeles for the third meeting between these two teams this season. Unfortunately, the Lynx suffered their first loss of the season to the Sparks, falling 83-61. Moore finished tied for a team-high 13 points to go with her five rebounds and two blocked shots.

Forward Candace Parker was absolutely dominant at home that night, leading all scorers with 18 points while adding 13 rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocked shots.

Lynx guard Anna Cruz had a solid all-around game in Los Angeles, finishing with nine points, three rebounds, four assists, two steals and one blocked shot despite the loss.

Lynx forward Maya Moore got back to her 20 point ways when the Lynx and Sparks met for the fourth and final time during the regular seaon, scoring 20 points. Moore also added five rebounds, two assists and two steals in Minnesota’s 72-64 victory over the Sparks.

Lynx center Sylvia Fowles is a huge reason for Minnesota’s victory tonight (yes, both literally and figuratively. She’s 6’6. I wouldn’t face her in the post). Fowles finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, including six points and four rebounds in the fourth quarter to fuel Minnesota to a win.

Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike did her best to lead Los Angeles to a win that night, but fell just short. Ogwumike had a team-high 18 points to go with her five rebounds.

Sparks center Jantel Lavender had given the Lynx fits all season long and their August 9 meeting was no exception. Lavender finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. It was the only game against the Lynx in he regular season in which Lavender did not notch a double-double.

Sparks forward Candace Parker continued to do it all for Los Angeles, helping her team in multiple areas every single night this season. Against the Lynx, Parker finished the night with 10 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals and three blocked shots in the Sparks’ loss.
