Preview: Lynx vs. Sparks
The Minnesota Lynx (2-6) host the Los Angeles Sparks (3-6) in a Commissioner’s Cup matchup on Sunday.
Minnesota won its last contest against the New York Liberty on Tuesday, 84-78. Four Lynx starters scored in double figures en route to the victory: Aerial Powers scored 18 points, Kayla McBride scored 15 points, Sylvia Fowles added 14 points, while Moriah Jefferson scored 12 points.
Los Angeles is coming off a loss to the Fever in Indianapolis, 101-96. Nneka Ogwumike scored a game-high 30 points with 10 rebounds while Katie Lou Samuelson scored a career-high 19 points.
Sunday’s matchup marks the second regular matchup between these two teams. Last time they faced each other, Kayla McBride scored a game-winner in her season debut in Los Angeles. That victory was Minnesota’s first of the season defeating the Sparks, 87-84.

Seimone Augustus Retirement Ceremony
Augustus will return to Target Center on Sunday, May 29 when the Lynx host the Los Angeles Sparks. Now an assistant coach with the Sparks, Augustus was selected first overall by the Lynx in the 2006 draft. She is a part of the franchise core that won all four Lynx championships (2011, 2013, 2015, 2017) during the team’s historical run. The pregame ceremony is scheduled to commence at 5:25 p.m. CT

Bidding begins Sunday, May 29 at 9:00 a.m. CT at www.lynxbasketball.com/auction and will close at the conclusion (final buzzer) of Sunday’s game vs. the Los Angeles Sparks (tipoff at 6:00 p.m. CT).
