Preview: Lynx vs. Aces

Returning home after winning two of three on the road, the Minnesota Lynx (6-7) host the Las Vegas Aces (10-3) in a Commissioner’s Cup matchup in Minneapolis Friday night. Friday is also Pride Night at Target Center, presented by Xcel Energy. It is the first of three meetings between the two sides in 2021.

A huge night from Sylvia Fowles propelled the Lynx to an 18-point comeback and 87-85 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday evening. The soon-to-be four-time Olympian filled the stat sheet with 26 points on 11-of-16 shooting, 19 rebounds, five blocks and two steals. Damiris Dantas caught fire from deep, scoring a season-high 23 points while converting 6-of-11 from three-point land in the victory.

The Aces return to action following an eight-day hiatus, most recently beating the New York Liberty, 103-76, on June 17. Reigning WNBA Most Valuable Player A’ja Wilson leads Vegas with 18.5 points per game. Center Liz Cambage adds 15.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game for the Aces.

Friday’s tipoff is set for 7:00PM Central for Target Center. Live coverage is available on the WNBA Facebook page.
