Preview: Lynx At Mercury

The June slate comes to an end Wednesday night when the Minnesota Lynx (7-7) visit the Phoenix Mercury (7-7) in a Commissioner’s Cup matchup. It’s the second matchup between the two sides, following the Mercury’s controversial win over the Lynx to open the 2021 season.

Reigning Western Conference Player of the Week Sylvia Fowles averaged 28 points, 16.5 rebounds, 4.5 blocks, and three steals per game while shooting 63.9% from the field for Minnesota last week. Fellow Team USA invitee Napheesa Collier is coming off the most complete performance of her career, scoring 23 points while grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out eight assists in the Lynx’s 90-89 win over the Las Vegas Aces on Friday.

Diana Taurasi returned from a fractured sternum to lead the Mercury to an 88-79 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday, scoring 25 points. Brittney Griner added 22 points and eight rebounds in the win.

Tipoff for Wednesday’s contest is set for 9:00PM Central at Phoenix Suns Arena, with coverage available on Bally Sports North PLUS and CBS Sports Network.
