Preview: Lynx at Liberty
The Minnesota Lynx (2-8) take on the New York Liberty (3-7) on Sunday afternoon at Barclays Center.
The Lynx are currently on a two-game losing streak after falling to the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday night, 84-76. Veteran center Sylvia Fowles earned her sixth double-double of the season after putting up 16 points and 20 rebounds in the game. Fowles became the first player in the WNBA this season to get 20 boards in a game. Teammate and guard Kayla McBride was Minnesota’s leading scorer, tallying 20 points in the game.
New York is on a two-game win streak after defeating the Washington Mystics on Friday night, 74-70. Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu had a game-high 24 points, while teammate Natasha Howard posted 17 points and seven rebounds.
The first time Minnesota and New York met this season, the Lynx came out on top with a 84-78 victory. Sunday’s matchup is the second meeting between the two teams this year and they will face each other one final time during the regular season on Tuesday night.
