MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame today announced that Minnesota Lynx Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations Cheryl Reeve has been named to the Class of 2026, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the game.

Reeve recently completed her 16th season as head coach of the Lynx and her third as president of basketball operations. A four-time WNBA Coach of the Year (2011, 2016, 2020, 2024) and two-time WNBA Basketball Executive of the Year (2019, 2024), she has captured six WNBA championships, including four as head coach in Minnesota (2011, 2013, 2015, 2017) and two as an assistant coach with the Detroit Shock (2006, 2008). Under Reeve’s leadership, Minnesota’s four titles are tied for the most in WNBA history, establishing the Lynx as one of the league’s most successful and storied franchises.

Under Reeve, the Lynx have compiled 364 regular season wins, and 52 postseason victories over 16 seasons, making her the all-time winningest coach in WNBA history for regular season and playoff wins. Reeve holds the highest postseason winning percentage in league history (.626) and ranks second all-time in regular season winning percentage (.657). During her tenure in Minnesota, Reeve has coached players to two WNBA Most Valuable Player honors (Sylvia Fowles, Maya Moore), three WNBA Defensive Player of the Year awards (Napheesa Collier, Fowles, Alanna Smith), and 12 All-WNBA First Team selections (Seimone Augustus – 1, Collier – 3, Fowles – 1, Moore – 5, Lindsay Whalen – 2).

During the 2025 season, Reeve guided the Lynx to a franchise-best and league record-tying 34 wins, earning her third career WNBA Coach of the Month award (July). Minnesota secured the No. 1 overall seed in the WNBA Playoffs for the sixth time in franchise history after leading the league in offensive rating (109.5), defensive rating (97.5), points per game (86.1), and assists per game (23.3). Reeve also served as head coach for Team Collier in the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, leading a group that included three Lynx All-Star selections (Collier, Kayla McBride, Courtney Williams). This season, Reeve coached two All-Defensive Team selections (Collier, Smith), an All-WNBA First Team awardee (Collier) and a WNBA Co-Defensive Player of the Year (Smith).

Reeve has also made a significant impact on the international stage, serving as head coach of the USA Basketball Women’s National Team from 2021-2024. She led Team USA to a gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, claiming the longest Olympic gold medal streak (8) in any traditional team sport. Reeve assumed the role of head coach after serving as an assistant coach for multiple championship teams, helping the U.S. capture gold medals at the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games and the 2014 and 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cups. Throughout her time with USA Basketball, Reeve has contributed to a combined 74-4 record, including a perfect 50-0 mark in official FIBA competitions, solidifying her reputation as one of the most accomplished coaches in women’s basketball.
