Minnesota Lynx Acquire Guard Natisha Hiedeman from Connecticut Sun

Lynx send Tiffany Mitchell and second round pick in 2024 WNBA Draft to the Sun 

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has acquired Natisha Hiedeman from the Connecticut Sun in exchange for guard Tiffany Mitchell and Minnesota’s own second round pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft. 

Hiedeman, 5-8, holds career averages of 7.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.8 steals in 150 career games with Connecticut. Originally selected by the Lynx in the 2019 WNBA Draft with the 18th overall pick, she was traded to Connecticut on draft night. The Marquette University product has made 37 playoff game appearances for the Sun (19 starts), which includes starting all 12 games of the 2022 WNBA Playoffs, ultimately earning Connecticut a trip to the 2022 WNBA Finals. 

The Green Bay, Wis. native saw action in all 40 games (all starts) during the 2023 season, holding averages of 8.5 points, a career-high 2.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 26.7 minutes of action per game. Her top performance of the season came on July 24 against Atlanta when she finished with a season-high 24 points on a season-best 8-of-11 shooting, including a career-high 6-of-7 from deep, three rebounds, three assists and four steals. Hiedeman became the first player in Sun history and 10th in WNBA history to score 20+ points on 6+ three-pointers and have 4+ steals in a game. 

In her one season in Minnesota in 2023, Mitchell appeared in 33 games (21 starts) and averaged 7.3 points on 40.4% shooting, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 23.1 minutes of play. Signed as a free agent with the Lynx on Feb. 3, 2023, the Charlotte, N.C. native has played in 242 games (116 starts) between Minnesota and the Indiana Fever. She holds career averages of 9.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 23.3 minutes per game.
