Minnesota Looks For Third Win In A Row Against Phoenix
The Minnesota Lynx (8-3) look for their third win in a row tonight when they take on the Phoenix Mercury (6-6) in Bradenton, Fla.
Minnesota is coming off of a 91-84 win against the Dallas Wings on Wednesday, led by rookie guard Crystal Dangerfield’s 21 points and six assists. Dangerfield’s former UConn teammate and Lynx forward Napheesa Collier added 18 points and six rebounds in the victory. Shenise Johnson returned to play after missing five games with a strained right hamstring. The Lynx continue to play without veteran center Sylvia Fowles who is sidelined indefinitely with a strained right calf.
Phoenix has lost back-to-back games, most recently falling to the Los Angeles Sparks, 83-74, on Wednesday night. Mercury guard Diana Taurasi had a game-high 19 points to go with six rebounds, while center Brittney Griner had 13 points and six rebounds in the loss.
Over the past five seasons, Minnesota has won 13 of the 14 regular season meetings versus Phoenix, including a 5-0 playoff record.
