Maya Moore, Of Course, Captures EuroLeague Championship

Winning just never seems to get old for Maya Moore. She has led the Lynx to four WNBA titles, and on Sunday she added a second EuroLeague ring to her collection.

Moore scored 17 points and added four rebounds, seven assists, and a game-high four steals in an impressive all-around performance as UMMC Ekaterinburg topped the Hungarian team Sopron Basket.

This is the fourth EuroLeague Women’s title for UMMC Ekaterinburg, which also won Europe’s most prestigious women’s basketball trophy in 2003, 2013, and 2016. Their 2018 championship run completes a season in which the team went 15-3 in the regular season and soundly beat all their postseason opposition.

Fellow WNBA star Brittney Griner also played well in Sunday’s championship game. She scored 16 points and added nine rebounds and an impressive five blocks.

Moore previously won a EuroLeague Women championship in 2012 with Ros Casares Valencia, of Spain. has had a great run abroad, but there’s no rest for the weary—Lynx training camp starts on Sunday, and Moore will need to shift back to competitive WNBA play.
