Lynx to Host Annual Catwalk for a Cure Event Presented by Mayo Clinic on August 26
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – For the seventh consecutive season, Minnesota Lynx players will trade in their sneakers and uniforms for stilettos and dresses on Wednesday, August 26 for their annual “Catwalk for a Cure” presented by Mayo Clinic. All proceeds for the event, which is held from 5:15-8 p.m. at the Timberwolves and Lynx Courts at Mayo Clinic Square, will benefit the Lynx Foundation, which supports breast cancer research and support programs throughout the state of Minnesota.
The event begins at 5:15 p.m., where fans will have the opportunity to mingle with the team, enjoy dinner and bid on silent auction items featuring sports memorabilia and unique experiences from around the Twin Cities. The fashion show, which features the entire Lynx roster and coaching staff, will begin at 6:30 p.m. For the first time, the event will feature breast cancer survivors that will be paired with Lynx players as they walk in their first look of the night.
“We are excited to partner with the Minnesota Lynx Foundation through the Catwalk for a Cure event which supports such a great cause that affects so many people on a daily basis,” said Sandhya Pruthi, M.D. “Here at Mayo Clinic we are able to do extensive research to find ways to cure breast cancer and improve the quality of life for many women.” Pruthi is a consultant in the Department of Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic.
