Team opens preseason at home vs. Washington Mystics on May 5
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced that tickets for all 20 regular season home games for their 25th season presented by Mayo Clinic at Target Center and their home preseason game at Target Center will go on sale today at 10:00 a.m. CT. Fans can purchase tickets at www.lynxbasketball.com/tickets or by calling 612-673-8400. The WNBA’s 27th season features a record-high 40 games per team.
The 2023 Lynx season will be one fans don’t want to miss including the celebratory 25th anniversary weekend, June 9-11 with a 25th anniversary game (June 9 vs. Indiana Fever) and the jersey retirement of Lynx legend Sylvia Fowles (June 11 vs. Los Angeles Sparks). The franchise will also host “Whay Day” (August 4 vs. New York Liberty), celebrating Lindsay Whalen’s Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame induction.
Minnesota’s 2023 regular season home opener will tip-off on Friday, May 19 at 7:00 p.m. CT against the Chicago Sky.
The first chance for fans to see the Lynx at Target Center is the team’s preseason game against the Washington Mystics on Friday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. CT. The Lynx second and final preseason game is against the Chicago Sky in Toronto on Saturday, May 13, in what is the first WNBA game to be held in Canada.
Key highlights for the 2023 season include:
Commemorative 25th anniversary season logo: The four stars represent the franchise’s four championships. The number uses the original jersey font from the team’s inaugural year in 1999. The logo incorporates the current Lynx logo, typeface and colors. The top outer points represent Lynx ears and the bottom point represents a fang. Download the 25th anniversary season logo here.
All-25 Team: The team announced the All-25 Team, unveiling the top 25 players in Lynx history throughout Women’s History Month (March). Each player will be highlighted on Lynx social channels throughout the season. Learn more here.
25th Anniversary Game, June 9: Nearly all players named to the All-25 Team will return to Target Center on Friday, June 9 (vs. Indiana Fever) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the franchise. A special postgame ceremony will spotlight each player’s impact and historic accomplishments.
Sylvia Fowles Jersey Retirement, June 11: The Lynx will honor Fowles’ historic career by retiring her jersey following Sunday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks. During her iconic WNBA career, Fowles was drafted and spent seven seasons with the Chicago Sky before being traded to Minnesota for her final eight seasons. Fowles retired at the end of the 2022 season as one of the most decorated players in WNBA history. During her career, Fowles won two WNBA championships and was named Finals MVP both times (2015, 2017), was named league MVP in 2017, is a four-time Defensive Player of the Year (2011, 2013, 2016, 2021), was named to the All-Defensive Team eleven times, earned eight All-WNBA Team honors and is a four-time Olympic gold medalist (2008, 2012, 2016, 2020).
Whay Day, August 4: Four-time WNBA champion and homegrown Minnesota superstar, Lindsay Whalen will be honored at Friday’s game for her 2022 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame enshrinement. Whalen will be honored during a pregame ceremony, unveiling a new banner. Whalen retired in 2018 after 15 seasons in the WNBA, ending her career as the winningest player in WNBA history.

The 2023 WNBA Draft will be held, Monday, April 10 at 6:00 p.m. CT with a live broadcast on ESPN. The Lynx have five picks in the upcoming draft, including two first round picks (2nd and 12th overall), two second round picks (16th and 24th overall) and one third round pick (28th overall).
