With the Lynx beating the Chicago Sky 93-85 in a thriller at Target Center on Tuesday night, Minnesota clinched a 2019 WNBA playoff berth.

It will, and quite remarkably I might add, mark the team’s ninth-straight playoff appearance, all with coach Cheryl Reeve at the helm. It’s the third-longest streak in WNBA history.

The Lynx are 16-15 on the season, sixth in the league. Minnesota is a half-game ahead of the Seattle Storm, and a full game ahead of the Phoenix Mercury.

If the Lynx earn the No. 6 seed, they’d host the No. 7 seed in the first round of the playoffs.

After Tuesday night, the Lynx have just three games remaining before the playoffs start: vs. Indiana (9/1), at Phoenix (9/6) and at Los Angeles (9/8).

The playoffs will start on Sept. 11.
