Fowles Makes More History In Win Over Aces

Notes from Friday’s win….

  • Sylvia Fowles tallied a game-high 30 points and team-high 14 rebounds marking her sixth career 30+ points/10+ rebound game. She added four assists, four steals and four blocks and became the first player in league history to record such stat line.
  • Tonight’s performance marks Fowles’ 172nd career double-double, her 80th in a Lynx uniform and her 5th this season.
  • With Fowles’ second steal of the night she moved into fifth on the Lynx ranks for steals, passing Lindsey Whalen (224).
  • At the final buzzer, Napheesa Collier registered her first double-double of the season (15th career) with 23 points, 10 rebounds and a season-high eight assists.
  • Layshia Clarendon finished the night with season-high 20 points and seven assists, marking back-to-back games with at least seven assists and the 26th time in their career he has hit that mark.
  • Per Elias, with Fowles (30), Collier (23) and Clarendon (20) all scoring 20+ points in tonight’s game, it marks the seventh time in Lynx history that three players register 20+ points in the same game. The last time this happened was September 1, 2017, vs Chicago (Sylvia Fowles – 27, Renee Montgomery – 21 and Maya Moore – 20).

TEAM NOTES

  • With the victory tonight, the Lynx snapped the Aces five-game win streak and are now 7-7 on the season (3-3 in Commissioner’s Cup games). The Lynx are now 5 -3 at home and 2-0 in overtime contests this season.
  • Minnesota held Las Vegas to 38.5% shooting from the floor. Since the 2011 season, the Lynx are 124-4 when holding an opponent to 40% or less from the floor.
  • Minnesota scored 54 points in the paint tonight, which marks a season high in the category and the second time this season that the Lynx have tallied 50+ paint points.
