Bally Sports North, ESPN and Ion Set to Carry All Lynx Games for 2023 Season

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced their broadcast schedule for the 2023 WNBA season. In a landmark deal, Ion will now nationally televise seven Minnesota games on each Friday throughout the 2023 season. Bally Sports North (BSN) will continue their historic coverage of the Lynx and will carry 31 fully produced games that will air on BSN or BSN Extra.

The 2023 season features a record-high 40 regular season games (up from last season’s league-high 36) from May 19 through Sept. 3. The addition of Ion as a nationally televised game serves as a landmark increase for continued expansion of media coverage of women’s athletics.

Minnesota’s schedule includes nine nationally televised games (an increase from four in 2022) that will air on ESPN (July 22 vs. Vegas and Aug. 1 at Connecticut) and Ion (June 9 vs. Indiana, June 16 at Los Angeles, July 7 vs. Phoenix, Aug. 4 vs. New York, Aug. 18 at Seattle, Sept. 1 vs. Atlanta and Sept. 8 at Chicago). Amazon Prime Video will stream four games (May 25 at Phoenix, June 1 vs. Connecticut, July 20 vs. Los Angeles and Aug. 10 at Indiana). Twitter and Meta VR will stream three games alongside each platform ( May 23 vs. Atlanta, July 12 vs. Dallas and Aug. 22 vs. Dallas). Meta VR will also stream games on May 19 vs. Chicago, June 7 at New York, June 11 vs. Los Angeles, Aug. 26 vs. New York and Sept. 10 at Indiana. Meta VR games will only be accessible via Meta Quest VR headsets.

Saturday’s historic preseason game in Toronto, Canada against the Chicago Sky at Scotiabank Arena will be aired on Bally Sports North Extra with tip set for 3:00 p.m. CST. Bally Sports North’s coverage of the regular season begins on Friday, May 19 when the Lynx open their season at Target Center against the Chicago Sky at 7:00 p.m. CST.

Bally Sports North’s broadcasts of Lynx Basketball will feature 2021 Minnesota Sportscaster of the Year Marney Gellner who returns for her 13th season as TV play-by-play announcer. Joining her this season is 2022 NCAA Legacy Award winner Lea B. Olsen, who begins her 15th season as color analyst as well as Sloane Martin, who will serve as the sideline reporter and play-by-play announcer for select games.
