WNBA Playoff Watch | Hoping For A Lynx Win And A Mercury Loss

It’s officially crunch time in the 2019 WNBA season and nothing about the postseason is clear yet. We’re tracking every game, keeping a close eye on the standings and giving you day-to-day updates on how everything else happening around the league impacts the Lynx.

Lynx Standing: No. 8 with a record of 13-14. They hold a solid 3.5 game lead over the ninth-place Fever.

Clinched: Mystics, Sun, Aces.
Eliminated: No teams

Who To Root For In Tonight’s Games (Other Than The Lynx):

Sky at Dream (Twitter)

The Storm are still very much within the Lynx’s striking distance. Minnesota is just 2.5 games behind Chicago and the No. 5 seed. While the Lynx winning their games is the most important factor, seeing Chicago take a few losses certainly wouldn’t hurt. The Dream have struggled mightily this season, but any team can beat any other team in this league if they catch them on the right night. Lynx fans should hope Chicago’s shots aren’t falling on Tuesday.

Liberty at Fever (NBA TV)

This one doesn’t really impact the Lynx except to determine who they’re holding off for a playoff spot. As it is, the Fever are closer to the Lynx than the Liberty so Minnesota fans should pull for New York. Spread those wins around between lower-tier teams.

Mercury at Aces (Twitter)

At some point it starts to become more important to see teams close to you lose than teams way ahead of you. The Aces are probably locked into a top-three seed while the Lynx are probably not going to be able to finish higher than the top four. That in mind, it would be great to see the Mercury lose. They are just a half-game ahead of the Lynx in the No. 7 seed and a Lynx win on Tuesday plus a Mercury loss would bump the Lynx into sole possession of that spot.
