Turnovers Doom Lynx vs. Liberty

Turnovers have been the kryptonite for the Minnesota Lynx this season.

That continued on Wednesday night in New York.

The Lynx turned the ball over 21 times, and in related news, they fell to the Liberty, 75-69.

The loss drops the Lynx to 4-3 on the season.

The Lynx came out shooting downright lousy to start but stuck with it. Minnesota outscored New York 41-37 in the second half, but that wasn’t enough to overcome a 10-point halftime deficit.

Sylvia Fowles was solid for the Lynx, finishing with 16 points, 11 rebounds and two steals, but she did turn the ball over four times. She also moved to 20th on the WNBA’s all-time scoring list.

Odyssey Sims added 14 points, five rebounds and five assists, but she also turned the ball over four times.

Danielle Robinson added 12 points and seven assists.

For the Liberty, the backcourt duo of Kia Nurse and rookie Asia Durr killed the Lynx. The two combined for 46 points while shooting 19-for-31 from the field.

This is now two-straight losses from the Lynx. After a hot start to the season, the Lynx have now lost three of their last four games, but they’ll head back to homecourt advantage on Friday when they host the Connecticut Sun. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on Fox Sports Go. You can get tickets here.
