Timberwolves, Lynx and Pentair Announce New Partnership Focused on Career Pathways for Young Adults

MINNEAPOLIS and ST. PAUL (Jan. 17, 2023) – The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx, in partnership with Pentair, a leading provider of water treatment and sustainable solutions, recently launched a new series, The Career Development Training Camp powered by Pentair. The Training Camp series is a part of a new multi-year partnership between the organizations and is focused on career development for BIPOC young adults.

“The young adults participating in the Career Development Training Camp are our future leaders,” said Timberwolves and Lynx Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Tru Pettigrew. “We are happy to partner with Pentair in offering a unique and special space for our BIPOC students to learn, ask questions, and grow as young professionals.”

Each Training Camp includes a 90-minute session designed to educate BIPOC students with actionable insights and relevant information from established professionals from Pentair and the Timberwolves and Lynx. Sessions are intended to provide a source of inspiration, aspiration and empowerment by allowing youth and young adults to see and hear from people that look like them, and that have navigated similar experiences as they have, or will need to navigate in the future.

“I am honored to participate in the Career Development Camp supporting the future success of BIPOC students in our Twin Cities community,” said De’Mon Wiggins, Executive Vice President and President, Industrial & Flow Technologies for Pentair. “The opportunity to impart wisdom and share our collective experiences, both challenges and successes, and to connect directly with the students is powerful. My hope is that we are a source of inspiration and empowerment for this next generation in their own long-term career success. Their futures are very bright.”

The first Career Development Training Camp session was recently held at the Timberwolves and Lynx office at Mayo Clinic Square and included panelists Jihan Jenkins, Segment Innovation Officer, Water Solutions for Pentair, De’Mon Wiggins, Executive Vice President and President, Industrial & Flow Technologies for Pentair, Sianneh Mulbah, Timberwolves and Lynx Chief People Officer, and Sharod Wright, Timberwolves Basketball Operations Associate.
