A 90-75 victory over host country Japan pushed the United States Women’s Basketball Team to a 55th consecutive Olympic win, and a seventh-consecutive Gold medal.
Minnesota lynx star center Sylvia Fowles nabbed her fourth Olympic gold medal, while forward Napheesa Collier captured her first following the Olympic final.
Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve served as an assistant for Team USA, capturing her second Olympic gold medal.
Fowles, Collier, and Reeve now turn their attention to WNBA season once again, as the Lynx return to the hardwood on August 15 versus the New York Liberty. Minnesota is in the midst of a seven-game winning streak.
