Sylvia Fowles Reaches The 600 Block Milestone

In Tuesday night’s game against the Atlanta Dream, Sylvia Fowles blocked the 600th shot of her career, becoming one of just four WNBA players in the history of the league to reach that milestone.

Fowles has always been known for her defense. She is a three-time defensive player of the year and a seven-time All-Defense First Team honoree. Fowles has averaged more than 1.5 blocks per game in seven different seasons.

While Fowles has spoken on how milestones and records are not the most important thing to her, there is no doubt that reaching 600 blocks is an achievement. Joining her on the list of players who have done so are Brittney Griner with 619 career blocks, Lisa Leslie with 822 and Margo Dydek with 877.

It is unlikely that Fowles will pass Leslie or Dydek and Griner probably has the edge being younger but reaching the 600 mark is something that can never be taken away from Fowles. This is just another impressive stat in a career full of them an another line on the extensive resumes of one of the most dominant players to ever suit up in the WNBA.
