Scouting Report | Lynx vs Liberty

7:00 p.m., Target Center

Where To Watch: WNBA League Pass

Where To Listen: 106.1 BOB FM

The Minnesota Lynx will look to ‘rebound’ from their second consecutive loss on Sunday afternoon as they take on the 10-5 New York Liberty on Wednesday evening.

After setting a WNBA record for best start to a season by winning 13 games in a row, the Lynx haven’t been able to roar quite as loud as of late, losing two straight by an average of 21 points.

This non-conference matchup will feature two high-quality teams that are both extremely keen on pulling out the W tonight after both falling short in each of their last matchups.

Take a quick glance at these fun facts before tuning in to tonight’s important game:

– The two squads are virtually identical when it comes to points per game and assists per game, so look for solid ball movement on both ends of the floor and for quite a few points to be put up on the Target Center jumbotron.

– Minnesota will have to be very efficient and calculated on the boards on Wednesday evening as the Liberty rank first in the league in rebounds per game, grabbing nearly 40 every matchup.

– Tina Charles has been an animal so far this season, averaging 22.3 points, 9.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. The Lynx’ frontcourt will have their hands full trying to stop Charles, but if they do, Minnesota will have a good shot at coming out victorious as Charles is the motor that makes their team run.

Coming Off Of…

Minnesota got off to a slow start in their game against the Washington Mystics on Sunday afternoon and could never recover throughout the game, losing by a final score of 87-63, their worst loss of the season. Nobody really played that well in the loss, so look for Minnesota to come out with an edge on Wednesday night and get out to an early lead.

The Liberty lost an overtime thriller to the Mercury on Sunday afternoon 104-97. Sugar Rodgers and Charles combined for an impressive 49 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
