The Game

The Lynx are hoping to keep the momentum rolling, coming off a 98-77 win over the Aces on Sunday – the biggest win of the team’s season.

Minnesota knocking on the door of the playoffs. The Lynx can clinch a spot with a win over the Sky on Tuesday night, or with a Fever loss to the Aces.

The Lynx go into the game with a 15-15 record, good for seventh in the league. They have a full-game lead over the No. 8 Mercury and are just a half game behind the Storm for the No. 6 seed. The No. 6 seed is so important because it would give the Lynx homecourt advantage for the first round of the playoffs.

Chicago is 18-11, fifth in the league, but just a half game back from the No. 3 seed. The Sky have already clinched a playoff spot.

This is the third and final matchup between the two teams. The Lynx have won both games.

Lynx Connection

Before being traded to the Lynx in 2015, All-Star center Sylvia Fowles spent the first seven seasons of her career with the Sky.

Chicago made Fowles the No. 2 pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft out of LSU.

The Sky made the playoffs just twice in those seven seasons.

In five seasons with the Lynx, Fowles has helped her team the playoffs in each season, and (knock on wood) that will continue in 2019.

Something You Might Not Have Known…

With sharpshooter Allie Quigley (she leads the WNBA with 71 made 3-pointers this season), you’d think the Sky would be one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the league.

That’s actually not the case.

With six 3-pointers made per game, the Sky rank tied for fifth (with the Lynx) for 3-pointers made per contest. However, Chicago is shooting just 26.1 percent from deep, a mark that ranks eighth in the league. The Lynx are shooting 40 percent, third in the league.
