Preview: Lynx vs. Mercury

The Minnesota Lynx (8-15) return to game action on Tuesday night after the All-Star break and face the Phoenix Mercury (10-14) at Target Center.

The Minnesota Lynx are on a two game win streak after defeating the Chicago Sky last Wednesday, 81-78. Lynx guard Aerial Powers earned a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds, fellow guard Kayla McBride had 15 points in the game, while veteran center Sylvia Fowles had 14 points and seven rebounds.

Phoenix defeated the New York Liberty 84-81 on Thursday night. Veteran guard Diana Taurasi and forward Sophie Cunningham both put up 23 points in the game, while guard Skylar Diggins-Smith and forward Shey Peddy each put up 13 points.

This is the third meeting between the two teams, with the Lynx leading the series 2-0. Minnesota and Phoenix will meet again on Wednesday, August 10th in Phoenix.

In honor of Brittney Griner, the Minnesota Lynx are hosting a shoe drive for new or lightly used shoes during the game on Tuesday night where all proceeds will benefit Youthlink.
