Preview: Lynx vs. Liberty

Following a month-plus Olympic break in the 2021 WNBA season, the Minnesota Lynx (12-7) return to action on Sunday evening in the midst of a seven-game win streak. Facing Minnesota will be the New York Liberty (10-11), who emerged victorious in the first meeting between the two teams, 86-75, at Barclays Center on May 18.

Minnesota is led by the trio of Napheesa Collier, Sylvia Fowles, and Kayla McBride, who combine to average over 47 points per contest for the Lynx. Rejoining the Lynx on the hardwood after a two-month injury absence will be forward Natalie Achonwa, who is averaging 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists in eight contests this season.

New York is currently in a two-game slump, falling to the Connecticut Sun and Indiana Fever prior to the Olympic break. The Liberty are led by guard-forward Betnijah Laney who is averaging 19 points per contest during her first All-Star season.
