Preview: Lynx Meet Sun To Tip-Off 2020 WNBA Season

The 2020 WNBA season is finally here.

The Minnesota Lynx (0-0) begin their campaign Sunday (11am CT, ESPN) versus the Connecticut Sun (0-0) at the league’s single-site location at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. The Lynx return 2017 WNBA Most Valuable Player Sylvia Fowles and 2019 Rookie of the Year Napheesa Collier to lead Cheryl Reeve’s side. Minnesota added veteran guards Shenise Johnson and Rachel Banham in the winter, as well as center Kayla Alexander, with an eye on extending their run of nine-straight playoff appearances. The Sun is led by the tandem of Jasmine Thomas and Alyssa Thomas, fresh off their WNBA Finals appearance last season. Connecticut made a splash in the offseason, signing three-time All-Star DeWanna Bonner, who averaged 17.2 points per game to go with 7.6 rebounds with the Phoenix Mercury in 2019.
