Preview: Lynx At Storm
After an eight-day break, the Minnesota Lynx (0-3) return to action Friday evening when they visit the Seattle Storm (4-1) at Angel Of The Winds Arena in Everett, Wash. The two sides met previously on May 20 at Target Center, with the Storm coming back to claim a 90-78 road victory.
Sylvia Fowles currently leads the Lynx with averages of 19 points and 10.3 rebounds per game to start the season. Second-year point guard Crystal Dangerfield led Minnesota off the bench in the previous game versus Seattle, scoring 22 points and dishing out six assists.
At long last, Friday’s contest marks the return of versatile All-WNBA talent Napheesa Collier to the Lynx lineup, who was a late arrival to the Twin Cities following her overseas season.
Seattle is led by Breanna Stewart’s 24 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. Jewell Loyd adds 21.2 points per game from the backcourt, while Sue Bird holds averages of 11.8 points and 5.6 assists in her 18th WNBA season.
Friday’s game tips off at 9PM Central from Angel Of The Winds Arena. Coverage is available nationally on CBS Sports Network. The matchup counts toward this season’s Commissioner’s Cup standings.
