The Minnesota Lynx (3-13) travel to Phoenix to take on the Mercury (6-10) in a Commissioner’s Cup matchup on Tuesday night.
Minnesota is currently on a five-game skid after falling by one point to the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday evening, 96-95. Moriah Jefferson led the team with 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting, while Jessica Shepard dropped 22 points, 19 rebounds, and six assists. Shepard joined Lisa Leslie as just the second player in WNBA history to collect 22+ points, 19+ rebounds, six+ assists in a single game.
Phoenix is coming off a loss to the Dallas Wings, 93-88. Tina Charles scored 27 points with nine rebounds while teammate Skylar Diggins-Smith added 21 points and a season-high 10 assists.
Tuesday’s matchup will mark the first of four matchups between Minnesota and Phoenix this season. Phoenix visits Target Center on Thursday night for a matchup against Minnesota.
