Preview: Lynx At Mercury
Riding three consecutive wins, the Minnesota Lynx (8-7) meet the Phoenix Mercury (7-8) for the third and final time of the 2021 season Saturday night at Phoenix Suns Arena. The two sides split the previous two meetings this season, with Minnesota most recently prevailing, 82-76, over the Mercury on Wednesday.
Kayla McBride scored a season-high 26 points to lead the Lynx to victory on Wednesday. Napheesa Collier added a stat line of 19 points and 11 rebounds to help lift Minnesota over the .500 mark for the first time in 2021.
The Mercury fell despite Brittney Griner’s 28 points on 12-of-15 shooting from the field. Minnesota kept the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer Diana Taurasi in check, allowing just 10 points on a 2-of-14 shooting night from the Phoenix guard.
Tipoff is slated for 9:00 PM Central from Phoenix Suns Arena. Coverage of Saturday’s contest is available on the WNBA Facebook page.
