April 16, 2016: In honor of the Minnesota Lynx’ draft day trade, Jia Perkins shines bright in our Photo of the Week in this photo from August 28, 2011. Fortunately for Maya Moore, she will be looking for passes from Perkins on the court now instead of trying to block her shot.

April 23rd, 2016: Lindsay Whalen and Seimone Augustus were busy this offseason with the USA Women’s basketball team. The two players pictured above, along with Maya Moore and Sylvia Fowles are all finalists to make the 2016 Olympic roster. Hopefully these four athletes can team up this season to bring home another WNBA title for the Lynx.

April 30th, 2016: Last week, four Lynx players were competing for spots on the 2016 Olympic USA Women’s Basketball roster, this week, four Lynx players were named to the team. Lindsay Whalen, Maya Moore, Sylvia Fowles and Seimone Augustus all secured spots for team USA in the 2016 Olympics. In 2012, the four played together, but Fowles was on the Chicago Sky at the time. Despite not being teammates in the WNBA, the four players bonded and performed well together on their way to winning an Olympic Gold Medal.

TAL-F May 7th, 2016: In honor of an extremely successful Tip-A-Lynx event this past week, our photo of the week features two fans taking a selfie with Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve. Minnesota was able to raise over $13,000 for Lynx FastBreak Foundation, which not only provides but supports hands on programs for Minnesota youth.

May 14, 2016: The Lynx hosted a very successful Jr. WNBA Clinic for 40 players from the Richfield Girls Basketball Association on Thursday, May 12th. The participants had the opportunity to do drills with Seimone Augustus and Bashaara Graves, get autographs, receive a clinic t-shirt, and even ask the players questions throughout the day. One of the girls named Naomi, who was sporting an Augustus jersey, said, “I got to know where she (Augustus) went to high school and where she grew up, and then she signed my jersey. It was really fun.”

Laughs-FMay 21st, 2016: Lynx guard Lindsay Whalen and head coach Cheryl Reeve enjoyed a laugh together on Wednesday, the 18th, as Minnesota defeated the highly touted Chicago Sky 97-80.

June 4th, 2016: The Lynx remained undefeated on May 31st when they defeated the New York Liberty and moved their record to 6-0. Minnesota’s bench has performed well all season and will need to continue to do so if they want to win defend their 2015 WNBA Championship.

June 18th, 2016: Maya Moore and the Minnesota Lynx celebrated making history on Tuesday, June 14th, by going 11-0 and setting the mark for the best start to a WNBA season. The defending 2015 WNBA Champions beat the talented Indiana Fever for the second time this year in a dominating fashion, 87-63.

Minnesota Lynx v Los Angeles SparksJune 25th, 2016: In one of the coolest moments captured of the season so far, Seimone Augustus and company celebrated a victory over the unbeaten Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday, June 21st.

Minnesota Lynx v Connecticut SunJuly 9th, 2016: Maya Moore was all sorts of on fire on Thursday night, July 7th, in Connecticut as she scored 38 points in the second half of the game and finished with her third career 40-plus point performance. Hitting 13-of-27 shots, grabbing eight boards, stealing three balls and blocking two shots made for a nice day at the office for the 2014 WNBA Most Valuable Player.
