Overseas Update | Where Current Lynx Are Playing Overseas This Offseason

With the offseason in full swing, it’s time to check out who and where the current members of the Minnesota Lynx are playing basketball overseas.

In total, there are currently six Lynx players who appeared on the 2017 WNBA championship team that are playing overseas this offseason.

Here’s a breakdown of who is playing where and how they are doing so far:

Sylvia Fowles (China)

For the fifth time, Fowles will be playing with Beijing in the Chinese League.

Last offseason, she helped lead Beijing to its second straight WCBA title and was named Finals MVP with an average of 29 points per game.

Fowles has yet to play in any games yet this offseason following her MVP season in the WNBA with the Lynx.

Renee Montgomery (France)

Montgomery is going to be spending her offseason in France, playing for Flammes Carolo.

Before deciding to go to France in the offseason, Montgomery previously spent time in Lithuania, Israel, Russia, Australia and Poland.

Montgomery is still early into her season in France, entering Wednesday having played in one game, where she tallied 13 points, three steals, three rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes.

Natasha Howard (China)

Howard will be taking her talents to China for the offesason, playing for Zhejiang.

Howard played with the Samsung Life Blue Minx. last offseason, where she finished averaging 11.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.1 steals in 36 games.

Howard and Samsung have yet to kick off their season in South Korea, with their first game scheduled for Oct. 30.

Alexis Jones (Spain)

Jones, who finished her rookie season in 2017 with the Lynx, is playing overseas in Spain with Al-Qázeres this offseason.

Entering Wednesday, Jones has appeared in one game, where she recorded 25 points (including six three-pointers), three rebounds and one steal.

Cecilia Zandalasini (Italy)

After playing in eight total games during the 2017 season in Minnesota, Zandalasini is back in Italy playing with Famila Schio this offseason.

Zandalasini is playing her second season with Famila Schio. Entering Wednesday, she is averaging five points, three rebounds and one assist for Famila Schio.

Temi Fagbenle (Poland)

After spending her rookie season in the WNBA with the Lynx in 2017, Fagbenle is heading to Poland to play with CCC Polkowice this offseason.

Entering Wednesday, she is averaging 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal for CCC Polkowice.
