Minnesota Lynx Wrap 2018 WNBA Draft

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx tonight acquired the draft rights to forward Jill Barta, the 32nd selection in this year’s draft and a 2019 WNBA Draft second round pick from the Las Vegas Aces, in exchange for the draft rights to center Ji-Su Park, the No. 17 overall pick in this year’s draft, and guard Kahlia Lawrence, the No. 24 overall selection. The Lynx selected Minnesota native, guard, Carli Wagner with the 36th overall selection.

Barta averaged 18.8 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game and 1.8 steals per game in her 2017-18 season at Gonzaga. In her three season stint she amassed 1,620 career points, 449 rebounds and 130 steals.

At the University of Minnesota, Wagner averaged 18.7 ppg on 43.2% shooting, 4.6 rpg and 2.4 apg in her senior season. She collected 2,215 career points in 129 career games for the Gophers. She ranks third on Minnesota’s all-time career scoring list, second in three-pointers made (307), three-pointers attempted (880), field goal attempts (2,109) and games in double figures (114). Wagner started 118 straight games to end her career, the third longest streak in Gophers’ history.
