Minnesota Lynx Sign Rookie Forward Natasha Mack

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – Minnesota Lynx Head Coach and General Manager Cheryl Reeve today announced the team has signed rookie forward Natasha Mack to a seven-day contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mack was selected 16th overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2021 WNBA draft. The 6-4 forward has appeared in three games this season and averaged 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds in 5.3 minutes per game with Chicago.

The Oklahoma State graduate was named the 2020-21 WBCA NCAA Division I Defensive Player of the Year, joining Lynx center Sylvia Fowles who earned the same title in 2008 with Louisiana State University. Mack’s list of national honors also includes Naismith Women’s Defensive Player of the Year, Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and two Big 12 All-Defensive Team selections.

The Lufkin, Texas native holds the Oklahoma State record for single-season blocks with 112, breaking her own previous school record of 97 rejections. She finished her senior campaign ranked second nationally with 19 double-doubles and averaged 19.8 points, 12.4 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game.

Mack will be eligible to join the Lynx for Wednesday’s home contest against the Dallas Wings at 7:00 pm CT at Target Center.
