New leadership role will oversee ticket sales & service, corporate partnerships and marketing, with a focus on driving revenue growth and scaling the business

Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx today announced the appointment of accomplished sports and entertainment executive Jamie Morningstar as Chief Commercial Officer, a newly created position designed to deepen the organization’s executive leadership and accelerate growth across its revenue-generating businesses. Morningstar comes to the Twin Cities after spending the last 5-plus years as SVP, Ticketing at Madison Square Garden Sports.

In the newly created role, Morningstar will oversee the ticket sales & service, corporate partnerships and marketing functions across the Timberwolves, Lynx and Iowa Wolves, bringing greater focus to revenue generation, business development and fan acquisition.

“We are thrilled to add a leader of Jamie’s caliber to our organization,” said Timberwolves and Lynx CEO Matt Caldwell. “She has an exceptional track record of driving growth and brings the vision, experience and collaborative style to make an immediate impact. Jamie excels at uniting teams, identifying new opportunities and turning them into meaningful results. Her leadership will be instrumental as we build a more integrated approach across our revenue-generating businesses and position the Timberwolves and Lynx for sustained growth.”

The creation of the Chief Commercial Officer position reflects the Timberwolves and Lynx’s continued emphasis on sustainable growth and the importance of aligning key revenue-generating functions around a cohesive business strategy. Morningstar will work closely with Caldwell and the senior leadership team to identify new opportunities, maximize existing assets and execute strategies that support the long-term growth of the organization.

“I’m incredibly excited to join the team and have the opportunity to contribute to what is already an outstanding organization. I’m looking forward to working alongside this talented group to build on the strong foundation already in place, deepen our connection with our fans and partners, and identify new and innovative ways to drive growth across the business. It’s an exciting time for the organization, and I’m thrilled to be part of what comes next.”

Morningstar joins the Timberwolves and Lynx from Madison Square Garden Sports, where she served as Senior Vice President, Ticketing. During her tenure in New York, she held a senior commercial leadership role overseeing sales, service and ticketing operations for the NBA’s New York Knicks and NHL’s New York Rangers, as well as the organization’s live events, family shows and Christmas Spectacular.

While guiding one of the largest ticketing and premium businesses in global sports and entertainment, she helped generate more than $600 million in annual revenue and led a team of more than 130 professionals across ticket sales, premium sales, client service, ticket operations and digital engagement. Working closely with executive leadership on enterprise commercial strategy and revenue growth initiatives, Morningstar helped increase ticketing and premium revenue by $163 million, or 39 percent, since 2021. She also integrated AI and automation to enhance revenue efficiency, forecasting, pricing and operations, oversaw social media operations for the Knicks and Rangers, and served as interim leader of Global Partnerships during a strategic transition.

Prior to joining Madison Square Garden Sports, Morningstar held leadership roles with the Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder and began her career as an inside sales representative with the Detroit Pistons. She earned a Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in sports administration from the University of Kansas, where she was captain of the Jayhawks volleyball team. Morningstar was named a Sports Business Journal Game Changers honoree and a Milwaukee Business Journal Women of Influence honoree in 2019. She also passed the Kansas Bar Exam and currently serves on the USA Volleyball Board of Directors. She will be joined in Minnesota by her husband, Dave Glenn, and their three children, Nash, Rooney and Dax.

The appointment is effective October 19.
