Minnesota Lynx Acquire 2020 Second Round Draft Pick in Exchange for Guard Tanisha Wright

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL– The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has acquired a second round pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft from the New York Liberty in exchange for guard Tanisha Wright.

In her one season in Minnesota, Wright averaged 4.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists while logging 17.8 minutes per game in 33 contests. She shot 38.3% from the field, 39.6% (19-of-48) from long distance and 74.1% from the line.

Chosen by Seattle in the first round (12th overall) of the 2005 Draft out of Penn State, Wright holds career averages of 7.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 426 career games with Minnesota, New York and Seattle, shooting 42.4% from the field and 83.4% from the line while logging 24.0 minutes per contest.

The Lynx will kick off their 21st WNBA season, presented by Mayo Clinic by welcoming the Chicago Sky to Target Center on Saturday, May 25 at 7:00 p.m. The 2019 campaign includes 34 regular-season games from May 25 through September 6.
