McBride’s Euroleague Dream Ends In Final 4

Despite a second-half charge, Fenerbahçe was eliminated from competition following an 88-84 defeat to UMMC Ekaterinburg in the Euroleague Final 4 Friday morning in Istanbul. Minnesota Lynx guard Kayla McBride kept her side in it versus a WNBA star-laden Ekaterinberg squad with 12 points and four assists in the defeat. McBride finished her Euroleague campaign with averages of 16.5 points per game while shooting 34.5% from three-point range and 90.3% from the free throw line.

McBride’s focus now shifts to the Euroleague Third Place Game on Sunday before heading Stateside to begin her first season with the Lynx after signing as a free agent in February. The 2021 WNBA season tips off on May 14 when Minnesota welcomes the Phoenix Mercury to Target Center.
