Lynx Waive Forwards Jill Barta and Breanna Richardson and Center Vionise Pierre-Louis

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has waived Jill Barta, Breanna Richardson and Vionise Pierre-Louis.

Barta, a 6-3 forward, was originally selected by Las Vegas in the third round of the 2018 WNBA Draft and was acquired by Minnesota on Apr. 12. In one preseason appearance for the Lynx, she contributed four points, three rebounds and one assist. Barta averaged 18.8 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game and 1.8 steals per game in her 2017-18 season at Gonzaga. In her three season stint she amassed 1,620 career points, 449 rebounds and 130 steals.

Richardson, a 6-0 forward, was signed by Minnesota as an unrestricted free agent on Feb. 26, 2018 after being signed and waived by the Lynx in 2017. In 2017, she saw action in two preseason games for Minnesota, scoring eight points with three rebounds on May 5 vs. Atlanta and adding two points and one rebound on May 8 at Washington. In 2017-18, Richardson played for Israeli club Bnot Hertzeliya, tallying 14.2 ppg (43.5%) and 7.2 rpg while logging 35.6 mpg in 18 regular season contests.

Pierre-Louis was signed by Minnesota as an unrestricted free agent on Apr. 17, 2018. She appeared in one preseason game for the Lynx where she played 1:35 minutes. The 6-2 center became only the second player in Oklahoma history to record 1300+ points, 800+ rebounds and 200+ blocks in her career. She ranked third all-time for career blocks (221) and field goal accuracy (56.2%).
