Lynx to Spread Holiday Cheer with 12 Days of Giving
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced their third annual 12 Days of Giving. Beginning today, Monday Dec. 7, the 12-day event is a chance for the organization to give back to the community and help spread holiday cheer to those in need. The event will include social media giveaways and volunteer events by Lynx staff members and season ticket members throughout the community.
Highlights of the team’s 12 Days of Giving include:
- Tuesday, Dec. 8: Lynx and Timberwolves staff members are partnering with Defending the Blue Line (DTBL) to make holiday cards for kids with military parents. DTBL ensures that children of military members are afforded the same opportunities as other children. The Lynx will be making holiday cards to distribute to children of our nation’s heroes who are unable to make it home for the holidays.
- Tuesday, Dec. 8 – Friday Dec. 18: Throughout the entire 12 Days of Giving, the Lynx are teaming up with the Animal Humane Society. Every year Animal Humane Society (AHS) cares for more than 23,000 companion animals in need and helps thousands more through programs for people and pets. The Lynx will be highlighting pets in need on social media to help raise awareness. Fans can make a gift at http://ahs.mn/GiftFB15 throughout the two weeks.
- Friday, Dec. 11: Lynx staff members are partnering with Jerry Gamble Club of the Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities. The Lynx will be participating in their Kids Feeding Kids Program, helping prepare and serve their evening meal.
Tuesday, Dec. 15: A group of Lynx season ticket members will join Lynx staff members in volunteering at the Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. The group will be hosting a mini party for the children that will be filled with fun activities for the kids.
- Wednesday, Dec. 16: The Lynx front office is partnering with the Kids in Need Foundation, which ensures that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need. From 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Lynx front office members will be restocking inventory at the Foundation’s teach store and supply warehouse.
Additionally throughout the 12 Days of Giving, the Lynx will be holding social media giveaways on both Twitter (@MinnesotaLynx) and Facebook (Minnesota Lynx). Fans are encouraged to keep their eyes posted on both outlets for the chance to win great Lynx prizes including autographed posters and basketballs, bobbleheads and tickets to future games.
