Things didn’t go the way the Lynx wanted to on Sunday as they fell to the Sparks in Los Angeles in the team’s season finale.
To make matters worse, the Storm beat the Wings in Dallas, and the Storm leap-frogged the Lynx in the standings, moving to No. 6 while the Lynx fell to No. 7.
That means that instead of hosting a first-round game, the Lynx will instead travel to Seattle to play the Storm.
No matter what, the Lynx were going to play the Storm, but of course, homecourt advantage is exactly that — an advantage.
The Lynx were 1-3 against the Storm in the regular season, but anything can happen in a one-game series.
Minnesota and Seattle will play on Wednesday, Sept. 11 with tipoff at 9 p.m. CT. The game will air on ESPN2 and 106.1 BOB FM.
The Lynx will either play the Sparks or Aces in a one-game round two series on the road. That game will be played on Sept. 15.
