Lynx Sign Rennia Davis

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – Minnesota Lynx Head Coach and General Manager Cheryl Reeve today announced the signing of No. 9 overall pick Rennia (reh-NYE-uh) Davis. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released. 

Davis, a 6-2 forwardplayed in 118 career games (116 starts) for the University of Tennessee, holding career averages of 15.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. In her senior season, she averaged 17.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 24 games (all starts) and garnered the 2020-21 Coaches All-SEC First Team honors. At the conclusion of her career, she became one of four Tennessee players, joining Chamique Holdsclaw, Candace Parker and Tamika Catchings to rank top-10 in points (ninth, 1,815), points per game (ninth, 15.4), rebounds (10th, 947) and rebounds per game (sixth, 8.1).  

Davis became the fourth player out of Tennessee drafted by the Lynx, joining Tonya Edwards (1999), Tasha Butts (2004), Nicky Anosike (2008) and most recently Bashaara Graves (2016).
