Lynx Sign Kamiah Smalls

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has signed guard Kamiah Smalls to a hardship contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.  

Smalls, a 5-10 guard, was selected 28th overall in the 2020 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. She appeared in seven contests in 2020, averaging 3.9 points, 2.0 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 14.3 minutes per game. In her rookie debut on August 31, 2020, Smalls registered 13 points on 4-of-4 shooting, four rebounds and two assists, becoming the fourth player in Fever history to score at least 13 points in her debut game. 

The James Madison University product spent this winter playing for Poland’s AZS-UMCS Lublin, where she averaged 16.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.3. assists across 27 BLK appearances and tallied averages of 17.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 14 EuroCup outings. 

Smalls will be available tonight when the Lynx take on the Atlanta Dream on the road. Tip is set for 6:00 p.m. CT and will broadcast on Bally Sports North Extra. Smalls will wear number 8.
