Lynx Sign Forward Jillian Alleyne

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has signed free agent forward Jillian Alleyne to the team’s training camp roster. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Alleyne (pronounced AY-leen), a 6-3 forward from Fontana, Calif., was drafted by Phoenix in the second round (20th overall) of the 2016 WNBA Draft. She most recently signed on with Minnesota during the 2018 training camp and was then waived on May 15. She averaged 17.9 points (on 54.3% shooting) and 14.3 rebounds per game her senior year at the University of Oregon in the 2015-16 season and finished her career as only the 10th player in NCAA history with at least 2,000 points and 1,500 rebounds. She also finished with the second-most double-doubles in NCAA history (92) and the third-most rebounds (1,712). Alleyne’s final season in Eugene was cut short due to an ACL injury, which also kept her out of the entire 2016 WNBA season.

The Summit (Calif.) High School product currently plays for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion in Israel where she is averaging a team-high 18.3 points on 52.4 percent shooting, 10.5 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.3 blocks in 34.4 minutes per game.
