The Minnesota Lynx are on the road to face the Washington Mystics in Game 3 of the semifinal round of the WNBA Playoffs at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Here are our three Keys to the Game for Game 3 in the nation’s capital:

1. Continue To Own The Battle In The Paint

Through two games so far this series, Minnesota has owned the battle in the paint against Washington.

In Game 1, the Lynx outscored the Mystics 30-26 in points in the paint.

In Game 2, Minnesota held an advantage of 50-32, which was the fourth time in 54 playoff games they’ve tallied 50-plus points in that category.

If you’re keeping track at home, that’s a total advantage of 80-58 advantage for the Lynx.

If they can continue that trend in Game 3, the Lynx will have another chance to come away with the win.

2. Get The Offense Going Early

Another key for Minnesota in Game 3 will be getting its offensive going early on, which is what the Lynx have done a good job of doing in the first two games.

In the first two games, the Lynx have shot above 50 percent from the field, leading to two wins.

Minnesota ranks first among playoff teams this year with shooting 54.9 percent from the field and averaging 97 points per game.

A key for the Lynx in getting that offense going is the way they are able to pass the ball. In Game 2, they dished out 27 assists, tied for the second most in franchise playoff history.

Minnesota ranks first among playoff teams this year with averaging 23 assists per game.

3. Finding the Third Option

One thing that each team has talked about in the first two games of the semifinal series is finding someone outside of their top two players to step up.

Among help from numerous other players, so far this series that third option for Minnesota has been Seimone Augustus, who is playing some of her best basketball of the season in the semifinals.

Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve said before the series began that it will be important to find more options due to teams focusing mainly on the their top two players.

It definitely has been important in this series so far and will continue to be a key for the Lynx in Game 3.

The Lynx and Mystics will tip off at 2 p.m. Sunday at Capital One Arena. The game will be aired on ESPN, 106.1 BOB FM, TuneIn Radio and the Lynx App.
