It was a big night for Minnesota Lynx bigs on Saturday in Dallas against the Wings.

The Lynx led by as much as 17 in the game and that lead ended up dwindling to three points in the fourth quarter, but the Lynx were able to hang on to a 70-67 win and move to 3-0 overall. The Lynx are the only undefeated team in the WNBA.

The story of the game for the Lynx ended up being their two bigs – Sylvia Fowles and Damiris Dantas. Fowles finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 9-for-13 from the field. In her first two games, Fowles has somewhat struggled, but let’s not forget she’s the focal point of this team’s offense. She proved why on Saturday night.

As for Dantas, it’s amazing how much she’s improved – especially from deep, as a player. Dantas finished with a game-high 20 points to go with five rebounds and four assists. Dantas shot 7-for-13 from the field and 3-for-5 from the 3-point line. Two of those 3-pointers came in the fourth quarter, which ended up being pretty valuable for Minnesota.

Odyssey Sims added 12 points. Danielle Robinson shot just 4-for-14 from the field, but had a solid all-around game with eight points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Minnesota’s defense, which has been so great to start the season, held Dallas to 37.5 percent shooting from the field and just 23.8 percent from the 3-point line.

The Lynx might not have the star power they have in the past, but the depth on this team is hard to ignore. And of course, Cheryl Reeve’s trademark defense.

Next up for the Lynx will be the Storm on Tuesday in Seattle. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. CT on Twitter. The Lynx beat the Storm 72-61 at Target Center on Wednesday.
