Lynx Head To Atlanta For Preseason Scrimmage

Five days into Minnesota Lynx Training Camp, competing against different faces in game-like scenarios can offer a fresh look for coaches as they sort out the roster and rotations ahead of the season opener on May 14. A quick trip to scrimmage the Atlanta Dream will provide that fresh prospective for Lynx Head Coach and General Manager Cheryl Reeve.

“We’re probably at that point where we know each other’s plays, we learn them together and then you guard them,” Reeve said ahead of Saturday’s scrimmage. “It looks really bad, because we know everything everyone’s trying to do, so that freshness of playing against somebody else will be really helpful for both teams.”

Training Camp can be a grind as players get into shape for the upcoming season. Breaking the grueling practice schedule up with a scrimmage, Reeve hopes it can give her players a much-needed chance to catch their breath.

“Just a day where you’re not taking all the pounding and all the reps, I think that will be the most valuable thing that we’re gonna get done,” Reeve told media on Thursday.

Saturday’s scrimmage tips off at 2PM Central Time in Atlanta.
