Lynx Activate Center Temi Fagbenle

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx announced the team has activated center Temi Fagbenle from the temporary suspended list. Fagbenle will rejoin the team ahead of Sunday’s game vs. Phoenix.

Fagbenle comes back to Minnesota after helping Great Britain to a best-ever fourth-place finish at FIBA Women’s EuroBasket and earning All-Star Five honors, awarded to the tournament’s top five players. The 6-4 center led the tournament in scoring (20.9 ppg) and shooting percentage (54.9%) while ranking second on Great Britain in rebounding with 6.7 rpg. Her tournament was highlighted by back-to-back 29-point outbursts vs. Montenegro and Hungary, the latter performance coming in the 62-59 quarterfinal victory that clinched Great Britain’s spot in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament scheduled for next February.

Minnesota also announced that the team has waived forward Shao Ting, who will return to the Chinese National Team to prepare for the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup, scheduled for Sept. 24-29 in Bengaluru, India.

The Lynx return to Target Center on Sunday to host the Phoenix Mercury. Tip is set for 6:00 p.m. and the game can be seen on Fox Sports Go and NBA TV and can be heard on BOB FM.
