Today, we go back 10 years to 2006 and take a look at the season that 22-year-old Seimone Augustus put together.
Augustus, coming out of LSU, was selected by the Minnesota Lynx with the first overall pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft before the season began.
That year went on to be one of the best collective seasons of her career so far.
As a rookie guard, Augustus finished with 21.9 points per game, which led the team and is the second-best of her career (averaged 22.6 in 2007). She concluded the season with 744 points, which was second in the league behind Diana Taurasi with 860.
Augustus was also selected as a Western Conference reserve in the 2006 WNBA All-Star Game and would end up leading the team in scoring with 16 points.
All of her accomplishments in her first professional season concluded with being named the 2006 WNBA Rookie of the Year.
