In today’s Flashback Friday, we go back to 2015 in what was another successful season for Sylvia Fowles and the Minnesota Lynx organization.
Midway through the 2015 season, the Lynx – coming off of two WNBA Championships in the last four seasons – traded for Fowles as part of a three-team trade with the Chicago Sky and the Atlanta Dream.
The 6-for-6 center from LSU appeared in 18 games during the regular season with the Lynx, averaging 15.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and one steal per game during that span.
During the playoffs, Fowles played well for Minnesota during a deep playoff push. In 10 playoff appearances, she averaged 12.6 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.2 assists per game.
On top of it all, Fowles helped the Lynx to their third WNBA Championship in five seasons and personally won her first championship of her career, while also winning her first Finals Most Valuable Player award.
Next week, we will take a look at Lynx forward Keisha Hampton in a roster review on Monday.
